After several years of listening to our children beg for a dog, we finally took the leap and brought home a male Miniature Poodle for Christmas 2022. What we thought would be a family pet quickly turned into mom's favorite child. She was stingy and would not let anyone else hold him. She never imagined the love for a dog could be so strong! Eventually we realized that just one dog would not do, so we took our chances and brought home another puppy six months later. This time she was a Miniature Portidoodle. We knew the benefits of having a Poodle but being a boating family we were drawn to the Portuguese Water Dog (PWD). PWDs are very similar to Poodles in regards to their temperament, coat and build, and when we stumbled upon the Portidoodle we thought one would be the best of both worlds. And it was!! We could not believe our luck - we now had two absolutely perfect fur babies!
Then one day mom had an idea... "What if we could share the blessings of having these wonderful puppies with others while extending their legacy for future generations at the same time?!" In other words, guaranteeing mom had a favorite child "furever". And so Coastal Portidoodles was birthed. Literally.
On August 14, 2025, we had six perfect F1b Miniature Portidoodles born early in the morning. Five adorable boys and one sweet little girl. These puppies are being raised in our home and loved on on all day, every day, being prepared to soon become a blessing to a new family. And while we are hopeful to have another litter or two in the future, we will never become a puppy factory. We are grateful to have experienced the miracle of birth once as a family and look forward to hearing about the joy these puppies will bring to others.
